MTC is located on the Bet Elazraki campus in the beautiful coastal city of Netanya. All our classes and learning take place on the main campus. Our students live in three stunning villas within a few minutes walk of the main Bet Elazraki campus. (See our campus page for more information).

Netanya is around an hour and fifteen minutes by car from Jerusalem. The bus takes around an hour and a half to travel between the two cities. This allows you to travel to see your friends and family located in Jerusalem while being able to focus on your year and personal growth.
Of course! On Monday evenings, the ‘seminary night off’, we provide transportation to Jerusalem and back. We do the same for off-Shabbatot so you can see your friends and family.
Three hot meals a day are provided for our students by the Bet Elazraki kitchen. Bet Elazraki serves breakfast early so the children can eat before leaving for school. Therefore, we also provide each villa with eggs, cereal and milk so our students don’t miss out on the most important meal of the day! In addition, the villas are equipped with appliances and cooking utensils so our students can make their own food if they would like.
There is a washing machine and dryer in each villa so you can do your laundry at your own leisure.
One Shabbat a month, we will have an “in-Shabbat” together with the children of Bet Elazraki – a unique and powerful experience. An additional Shabbat each month is spent together as a midrasha – either on campus together or at various communities across the country (See our Israel page for more information).
The other two Shabbatot a month are “out Shabbatot” when our students are able to visit family and friends. If you don’t have family in Israel, don’t worry – our staff always love the opportunity to host our students in their homes and we are always happy to help our students find places to stay across the country. MTC is your home for the year and so our campus is always open for students who want to stay in the dorms on “out Shabbatot”.
Of course! We begin the year with ‘sample classes’ so you get to hear from each teacher and experience each class. You’ll then sit with one of our administration team to register for classes to ensure that you choose the best schedule for you. (See our Torah page for more information)
We would be surprised if you didn’t! MTC prides itself on its family atmosphere which enables the staff to give each student the individual attention they deserve. There is always someone available to provide you with care, guidance and support. Our staff love learning in chavrutot with students or discussing any topic on your mind. These close connections continue long after our students have left MTC. (See the ‘Family Atmosphere’ section on the About MTC page for more information)
Of course! We believe that an essential part of being in Israel for the year is to experience the land. We go on numerous day tiyulim as well as overnight tiyulim to make sure you see the beauty of the land of Israel. Get ready for some fun! (see our Israel page for more information)
Yes, you will be assigned to a group of children within Bet Elazraki along with 1 or 2 other MTC girls. (See our Chessed page for more information)
Knowledge of Hebrew is not a prerequisite for being accepted to MTC. Although most children in Bet Elazraki speak only Hebrew, we have found that there is a language that overcomes the spoken one – the ‘language of love’. The children see how much the MTC students care for them and invest in their lives and this ‘language of love’ overcomes any formal language barrier. Every student takes ‘Ulpan’ to maximise her ability to communicate with the staff and children of the home. The combination of the formal ulpan class and the informal daily interaction with the children means that our students’ Hebrew skills improve over the year.
At MTC, we are looking for a girl who appreciates both aspects of our program, and will take both parts seriously – a girl who recognizes the importance of both learning Torah and doing chessed, and the ability of each aspect to enhance the other. A girl who devotes herself to our challenging, yet rewarding, program will thrive during her year.
Our goal is for each student to grow at her own pace in a most real and profound way. Over the course of the year, we hope to arm our students with a newfound appreciation and commitment to their Judaism, as well as a keen understanding of the power of giving, and the impact it can have on their own lives.
We are proud to say that our students come from various locations across across North America and England. We generally have representatives from West to East coast of the US in addition to various cities in Canada and England.
Our curfew is 12am midnight every night with the exception of Motzei Shabbat and Monday nights when the curfew is 1am. By this time, every student must be back in her villa. This curfew allows us to ensure our students’ safety as well as enable our students to get the rest needed to handle our packed schedule – to be able to learn properly and give their best selves to the children.
At MTC we want to create an atmosphere of tzniut both in the way we act and the way that we dress. Our students are also role models for the children of Bet Elazraki in setting a standard of religious growth. The following are our tzniut guidelines for all times during your year:

- Skirts (including slits) must cover the knee when sitting and standing
- Sleeves must cover the elbows
- Necklines must reach the collarbone
- The midriff must be covered when standing, sitting, or bending
- All wording and designs on clothes should be appropriate
- Clothing should not be tight fitting
- No body piercing (with the exception of ear piercing)
